We needed to extend our connected vehicle capabilities to end-users, starting with a real-world security use case in Chile: allowing drivers to remotely locate and lock their vehicles via a lightweight web app.

We designed three products that could be activated for any company in Astara Connect. Any relation between the vehicle and end users (personal data) remained with the company managing the vehicles. This way, our core company wouldn’t have to affect its privacy policies (GDPR).

• A web app that brands could embed in their applications and customize through a series of variables, allowing them a complete flexibility over the styling of the view.
• A fully customizable booking management application associated with the company.
• A REST API service to implement engine lock and door opening and closing commands via Bluetooth technology. This allowed brands to implement the solution in their native applications.

Responsibilities

• Research and Inspiration: regular follow-ups and customer conversations to gather insights, refine the experience of our customers.
• Product Evolution: Developed wireframes, user flows, and interactive prototypes for the WebApp, considering technical limitations and user feedback to refine features.
• Scalable Design Solutions: Designed modular products like the customizable web app, booking management application, and REST API service, ensuring scalability across brands and markets.
• Engineering support: Provide specifications and guidance to engineering teams, including detailed expectations for API responses, data structures, and interactions.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partnered with product managers, developers, and business teams to align on requirements, ensuring a cohesive approach to product development.
• Documentation: Created comprehensive Help Center documentation to support users and streamline customer service.
• Leadership and Mentorship: Guided developers and team members by providing design direction, offering constructive feedback, and ensuring alignment across teams to achieve product goals.
